SUMMER POINTS OF LIGHT YOUTH LEADERSHIP INSTITUTES

" Wanted: Students Who Want to Prepare for College, Employment and Leadership Roles in Schools and Communities "

For the 11th consecutive summer, students in grades 8-12 are invited to to attend the 2008 Alaska Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute(PYLI) Trainings, July 21-25 at UAA in Anchorage and July 28-August 1 at UA Mat-Su in Palmer.

PYLI is a component of the national Prudential Spirit of Community Initiative, a partnership with NASSP, encouraging community service by young Americans.

PYLI emphasizes creative leadership to make positive changes in schools and in the community through student led volunteer service projects. PYLI gives students real skills and valuable learning which prepares them for college, careers and life.

These trainings run five straight days from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Scholarships are available based on need.
